A childhood at the track

Landon S. Huffman made his first trip to Daytona when he was a year old. His father, Shane Huffman, raced before becoming a crew chief and later general manager of Pinnacle Racing Group. Racing was already part of family life when a friend handed Landon a go-kart at age six.

With his father committed to a race shop most weekends, the kart became Landon’s responsibility. He learned to prepare it at home, work on it at the track and understand what needed to change between runs. Those habits stayed with him as the cars got bigger.

164 wins before the move to stock cars

His first full karting season in 2016 brought 28 wins and two Junior 1 championships. Over the course of his karting career, he collected 164 victories and 21 championships, including six Maxxis National Championships.

The Maxxis Junior Champion of Champions stands out in that record. Huffman became its youngest winner in 2019 and won it again in 2021, becoming the only driver to take the race twice. His karting years also included UKS championships and the WKA Triple Crown.

In 2023, Pinnacle Racing Group gave him a stock car opportunity in its No. 28 late model at Hickory Motor Speedway. He won in his second week of competition. Three more NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series wins followed in 2024, along with selection as a Hoosier Hero.

The North Wilkesboro breakthrough

Huffman’s 2025 season put him in front of a wider audience. He finished seventh in the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville, an event that drew 70 cars, then ended the zMAX CARS Tour season with runner-up finishes at Tri-County and North Wilkesboro.

At North Wilkesboro, he broke the track record in qualifying, won the pole and led 90 laps. That run brought the call from CR7 Motorsports and a chance to race in ARCA.

The work between races is still a large part of his story. In 2026 he has split his shop time between the family’s LSH Racing late model operation and CR7’s ARCA program, helping build and prepare the cars he races. On late model test days, the crew is Huffman and his crew chief.

ARCA experience. A Bristol debut.

His first four ARCA appearances in 2026 brought sixth at Hickory, second at Nashville Fairgrounds and third at Chicagoland. At Elko, he led more than half the race before a mechanical failure left him 14th. Every race he finished produced a top-six result.

The next step is Bristol Motor Speedway on September 18, 2026. Huffman will drive the No. 43 Lindamood Chevrolet for SPS Racing in the Food City 300, making his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series debut at 19. The car was built and prepared in SPS’s Mooresville shop, with Blake Bainbridge serving as crew chief.

Bristol’s 0.533-mile concrete oval brings a new series and a 300-lap race, but familiar short-track demands. Huffman arrives with years of racing and working on small ovals behind him—and the same expectation that he will be in the shop before the car leaves for the track.
